And so many questions about this term. So let's know about deeply. Water reservoir is an artificial lake where water is stored. Most reservoir are formed by constructing dams across rivers. The dams controls the amount of water that flows out of the reservoir. Reservoir can be many types. There are mainly three types of reservoir, which of them listed below :

• The valley- dammed reservoir, which floods a valley.
• The bank-side reservoir, which diverts water from local rivers.
• The service reservoir, which is usually a concrete structure holding water. 

Under thes construction, more water is release from the reservoir so farmers can water their crops and home and business can function normally. Reservoir serve as other purposes. They are used as boating, fishing and other forms of recreation. Some of the dams that create reservoir are used to generate electricity. Reservoir helps people by reducing or preventing Floods. During times of excess water flow, dams store water in reservoir, then they release water during times of low flow, when natural flows are inadequate to meet water demands. These reservoir can bring flooding. If one of these dams failed, then water could escape from the reservoir, resulting in land or properties being flooded. A reservoir can be also formed form a natural lake whose outlet has been dammed to control the water level. The dams controls the amount of water that flows out of the reservoir. So people build the water reservoirs because the amount of water in a river varies over time.
